Enrichment of society through activities
Contact Us

The Association for Creative Sustainable Development and Competitiveness (KORAK) Dubrovnik was established in 2018. The association aims to enrich society through a variety of activities. We focus on the education of different sectors and the institutional development of civil society organizations to enhance their effectiveness. We encourage sustainable development in communities, with a special emphasis on rural and urban areas, providing education focused on sustainable development.

Our mission also includes environmental protection, natural and cultural heritage preservation, as well as promoting, developing, and assisting in the implementation of local community development projects. With a particular emphasis on lifelong learning, we encourage youth to actively participate in utilizing their free time.

DUtopia

The “DUTOPIA” project aims to invest in sustainable development through the education of students, teachers, members of NGOs, and volunteers, as well as raising awareness of sustainable development through a partnership between the public and civil sectors. Through activities such as education, eco workshops, and volunteer initiatives, the project addresses challenges such as lack of information, inadequate projects for sustainable development, poor waste management, and a lack of infrastructure for tourism and youth volunteer programs. The expected outcome is an increased awareness among citizens of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County about the principles of sustainable development.

Zero Waste Network

The goal of the project is to strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations and primary schools in the Dubrovnik-Neretva and Lika-Senj counties for environmental protection and active participation in EU projects. Through workshops held for elementary school students on green policies and recycling, as well as workshops for preparing EU projects, the project promotes environmental awareness and provides schools with additional capacities for extracurricular activities.

Think Green

The Think Green project stems from the awareness of young people about global warming, aiming to promote recycling in high schools in Dubrovnik. The youth plan to educate entrepreneurs on sustainable development and create a Guide for Sustainable Development, with the ultimate goal of building a safer, cleaner, and more supportive Dubrovnik for the environment and vulnerable groups.

A step to safety

The project aims to strengthen local civil society organizations for the prevention and resolution of crisis situations, with a focus on improving community safety. An innovative application developed as part of the project enables fast and efficient communication between civil protection services and volunteers, making Dubrovnik the first city in Croatia with designated public spaces for citizen evacuation in case of earthquakes.
